Hosea 8:5b says, "How long will they be incapable of innocence?" This means that Israel lacked the capacity not to make idols. The situation among humankind today is the same. Oh Lord, give me the capacity to have no idols. I want to love You supremely and serve You uniquely!

Everything except God is corruptible. The church may decline, deteriorate, and become degraded, but God is incorruptible

A pure heart is a single heart without mixture, seeking the Lord only and taking the Lord as the unique goal. A good conscience is a conscience without offense (Acts 24:16). Unfeigned faith, connected with faith in verse 4, is faith without pretense or hypocrisy, that purifies the heart (Acts 15:9) and works through love (Gal. 5:6). In order to deal with the differing teachings when the trend of the church is toward decline, all these attributes are required. They are necessary if we are to have a pure, true, and genuine love.

 Israel lacked the capacity not to make idols; that is, they were very capable and active in making idols. Thus, Hosea was asking when they would lose their capacity to make idols, when they would no longer be able to make idols. The situation of humankind today is the same. Human beings may not be capable of understanding the Bible or of knowing God, but they are very capable in making many things their idols.

Our going to Russia (Brazil- South America) today to minister the proper spiritual food is the spreading of the manifestation of Christ.

“How long will they be incapable of innocence?” Here to be incapable of innocence means to be incapable of not making idols. Israel lacked the capacity not to make idols; that is, they were very capable and active in making idols. -- The situation of humankind today is the same. Instead of making up our mind to do what the Bible says, we should say, “Lord, I love You, I love Your word, and I love everything You say to me.” If we speak this way to the Lord, He will answer, “Very good! Now you need to know that whatever I want you to do, I will do for you and through you.”
